I prefer them to shatter. Ha ha. But it looks very cool.
Friends and neighbors, I've traveled many miles on buses and planes over the years, I've got some horror stories concerning my guitars. If you're Gibson player like myself and you travel, you need the C1! Your guitar's neck is on the line, get one!
How many times have you heard a Les Paul player say 'I wish someone made a brace of some kind to support my headstock when shipping or flying on a domestic flight??' Finally someone has answered the call! The Atlas C-1 is perfect for protecting against headstock breaks.... A sigh of relief for your precious instrument.
As a player/collector, I'm geeked about the Atlas-C1. I have a large guitar collection, many vintage and modern reissues, and most are Gibsons with the vulnerable neck/headstock area. The Atlas C-1 gives me peace of mind when shipping guitars and/or transporting them to gigs, as well as when a guitar is sitting on its stand. I would recommend this innovative device to anyone who cares about their instruments and wants to be worry-free!
It's so amazing to have device that takes so much of the worry and stress out of traveling with my guitars and worrying about headstocks breaking! The Atlas C1 is a great innovation for the professional musician! Thanks Pat! 🙏
Don't forget to go to www.laithalsaadi.com and download his brand new, website only, release 'Don't You Give Up On Me'!
My work requires that I use a hollowbody electric guitar for live dates. As a large percentage of those dates are "fly dates"; flying (much less traveling) with a hollowbody in a gig bag has always been a bit unnerving...add to that a guitar with an angled headstock (that are prone to breakage just above the nut).
@patgeraghtydesigns (the same folks that brought you the Brownbox) have come up with a wonderful brace that supports this area and prevents this kind of damage. The Atlas C-1 is well designed, solidly built, and expertly crafted.
I picked one up the moment that they became available.
If you use a guitar with an angled headstock...man, I'd strongly recommend getting one of these.
It’s a brilliant piece ofhardware for a working musician that travels with their favorite Gibson, Gretsch or other angled headstock instruments.
Simply put, the atlas is a must have for musicians traveling with a guitar the biggest concern about traveling with your guitar has now been eliminated. The Atlas leaves you with peace of mind, I’ll never leave home without it.
As a touring guitarist, the Atlas C1 gives me peace of mind on tour and in the studio. As a luthier, I see headstock cracks and breaks come across my bench, and I recommend the Atlas C1 to protect your instrument.
The Atlas is an absolute game changer for any touring musician! As an artist who travels overseas a lot for shows and has had a guitar necked snapped by an airline, I find it to be a necessity now! Top of the line craftsmanship with ease of use makes the Atlas a no brainer for any touring guitarist!"
The Atlas C-1 is such a great idea, and a product that guitar players have been needing for a long time.
As a Tech I've worked with:
Alanis Morrisette, Lucinda Williams, Dashboard Confessional, Eels, Bob Dylan, and others...
I've been playing music for over 35 years with various bands and worried sick about my guitars getting broken every step of the way!
Peace of mind is worth it.
This is the Atlas C1, made by Olor Cantus. I put it on my angled headstock guitars when I travel with them.
I'd definitely use it if I ever shipped a guitar. But I don't sell and I don't travel like that. But I definitely would.
I'll leave the link in the comments. This was invented by the same fella that invented the Brown Box, a step up from a Variac and protector of vintage amps everywhere.
This dude has spent his career saving our butts from careless folks who don't respect our gear.
I think at the very least, it's worth a look.
And as pictured, I put this thing on my 1999 ES 335, which is one of my favorite guitars ever and a dream to own since I was old enough to pick up a Cascio Interstate Music catalog.
I love my Atlas C1. Ever since I heard about it's creation, I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. I use it whenever I travel with one of my angled headstock guitars. It provides that extra layer of protection against the kind of bumps that can absolutely ruin your day.
Just want to give a shout out to Olor Cantus LLC, creator of the Atlas C1, protector of all of my angled headstock guitars. If you travel, or ship your instruments, this smal investment will give you peace of mind, l'm certainly glad I've got one. Thank you Pat.
