The Atlas-C1 was initially designed by me, Pat Geraghty, a lifelong player who has personally experienced 3 different headstock breaks over a 30-year time span. The return flight from Winter Namm 2020 would be the last straw. As an experienced designer and DIY type, I initially conceived of it as a repair jig to provide musicians, whether beginners or experts, with a quick, simple, and affordable tool for repairing damaged or broken instruments.
With no purpose-built headstock repair tools on the market, development of the Atlas-C1 began in 2018, and a U.S. patent was issued in 2019.
During research and development, it became clear that the Atlas-C1 could do more than function as a repair jig; it also offered essential, around-the-clock protection for instruments in any setting where potential damage is a constant risk.

The next phase focused on creating designed-in features to add versatility, making the Atlas-C1 a multi-purpose tool that’s as protective as it is functional.
Creating a low-profile carry-case-friendly design made sense and was crucial to ensure that musicians could protect their instruments in transit, significantly reducing the chances of damage from the outset.
The Atlas-C1 is ideal for travel, shipping, and, critically, for guarding guitars left unprotected on stands where accidental damage is most likely to occur—especially to the headstock, which is notoriously vulnerable.
